June 2-9, 2012  Family Reunion in Orlando

We had a family runion in Orlando so our whole family could be together before we leave.  We had all of our children and their families join us for a week in Florida.  All 21 of us were there for a great time spending time together, visiting Universal Studios, and even spending a day at Coco Beach.  Ryan, Heidi, Dallin, Carley, and Peter were the first to arrive, checked in at the Grande Vista Resort, bought food, and helped pick the rest of us up at the airport.  Gina, Aaron, Kaden, Ethan, Trevor, and Luke came from Heber City. Britt, Casey, Treyson, Chloee, and Nixson arrived from Highland, and Megan and Shane flew in from New York City.  We drove from Wyoming and stayed with Kara in Provo before flying together.  We are so grateful for Ryan and Heidi for all they did because all the rest of us arrived fairly late Saturday.

Although we didn't get to sleep very early because of all our visiting, we were up in good time to attend church.  It was Fast Meeting and we so enjoyed the spirit and strength of the testimonies that were born.  We also enjoyed Sunday School, Primary, and Priesthood meetings.  After church, we has a leisurely day of family and getting acquainted with the resort.

Meal were planned in advance with different family members in charge of different meals.  Ryan and Heidi took the first big meal which was greatly appreciated and enjoyed.  Other family members took charge of meals during the rest of the week.  Grande Vista Resort accomodated our family very well for the week with swimming pools, activities center, BBQ areas, and a big lake

On Monday, we all wore our Robinson Family tee shirts and headed to Universals Islands of Adenture because everyone was excited to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Everyone loved our tee shirts that Aaron did such a fantastic job creating and getting for all of us.  Even the Characters couldn't help but notice.  They took us backstage for a personal photo shoot.

To be continued.....

Dated May 15, 2012 ...

"You are hereby called to serve as a missionary(ies) of The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa Mission.  Your primary assignment is to labor in the Democatic Republic of the Congo Perpetural Education Fund Service Center as the Perpetual Education Fund ountry coordinator(s).  It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months.  You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Monday, August 6, 2012.... Sincerely, Thomas S. Monson, President."

As we start this great adventure together, we are trying to find ways to document and communicate all that we are trying to do and all that is happening as we prepare and as we serve this exciting mission.  Our children try very hard to keep us in the technology age and let us know that we should start and maintain a blog to share our experiences.  They have helped us get this blog started and we are sure that we will get better at it as we have more experience making our posts.  Wish us luck.  We are excited as we learn more about the country, the people, the amazing progress and growth of the Church in the DR-Congo, and the Perpetual Education Fund.

We already feel a connection with the people of the Church there because when President Monson announced the Star Valley temple during general conference last October, he also announced a new temple in Kinshasa.  What great opportunities await and the Church constructs new temples in these two locations.
